The free-standing wall in Technician 3 mimics a sine wave. Built from defunct high tech equipment once used by NASA and the U.S. military, it features four life-size ethereal projections, ghosts in the machine. Their eerie green likenesses appear and vanish across the metal expanse, simultaneously evoking Cold War nostalgia and science fiction déjà vu.
Vintage circuit boards form one of the three different walls in Technician 3. Hundreds of circuit boards are stitched together with metal wires to form a delicate structure that spans two stories.
Technician 3 is hosted by the Urban Institute of Contemporary Art in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan.
